Gone but Not Forgotten!

Cosmetic companies discontinue products in order to replace them with better ones to continuously improve their product ranges, this can cause much frustration to consumers who are fans of certain products that get removed from stores and become very hard to find.

Have you ever bought an eye shadow or perfume/cologne that you completely fell in love with, try to buy it again and find out it’s been discontinued?! It sucks right? If you like some cosmetic products that have been discontinued and you are having a hard time trying to find them again, don’t freak out just yet! Luckily there are some options out there for you.  Here are my top places to find discontinued cosmetics:

  1. Ebay – You should check regularly, as products are being added and sold all the time, but this is a great tool for finding rare things for sale, and that obviously includes discontinued cosmetics. Since the quantities available will be most likely limited, it’s a good idea to stock up on the product when you finally find it.
  2. Discount Stores – Either online or traditional brick-and-mortar, these stores tend to receive the surplus of discontinued products from manufacturers or retailers, and then sell them at a low price. Some examples of discount stores are DirectCosmetics, BuyMeBeauty or BeautyEncounter.
  3. Contacting the Manufacturer – You may be given the contact details of a company outlet that still has the discontinued product. Companies are usually aware of the consumers’ frustration over past products they can no longer find.
